Basic description of battery monitor MB50:
The MB50 battery monitor is a modular system (consisting of three types of MB50-RD, MB50-MNV and MB50-MPO), dedicated lithium battery voltage monitoring, automatic voltage compensation, current measurement and disconnection of the consumer or charger. The system can handle batteries of 1 to 96 cells of any type with a maximum voltage of 4.3 V per cell. The voltage of all cells, unlike competing products, is measured by one input of one microprocessor, there is no need to use voltage transducers or a bus to communicate with a group of microprocessors. As a result, there is no scatter of the measured values due to external circuits and all voltages are readily comparable. Another advantage of the system is that it does not need an external source to power, powered by the currently most charged cell. When the battery is discharged, monitoring is complete and the system disconnects completely from the battery to prevent it from continuing. If the battery should be monitored continuously, the system can be powered by an external 5V supply.
Voltage and balance measurement board MB50-MNV:
each for up to 8 cells. Expansion boards can be connected at the same time up to 12 (they connect to the control board and an eight-pin cable). The boards are designed to pin the voltage of individual cells to the processor on the control board so that it can measure and compensate by discharging the cells with too high a voltage. The number of boards used is determined by the total number of battery cells divided by 8. To operate the MB50 system, at least one MB50-MNV board must be used.

Control board MB50-RD:
It is the basic module of the system and controls its operation. It is operated with four buttons, the measured data is displayed on the two-line display. The sound signaling of battery faults is on the siren board and two relays, indicating low or high battery voltage. A battery pack (2x AAA) is also placed on the board to start monitoring by pressing the START button. In order for MB50 to work, one MB50-RD board must be used.
Current Measurement and Discharge Plate MD50-MPO:
the MD50 system also has a board that measures charging and discharging currents and sends the data to the processor on the control board. It also connects or disconnects the charger or appliance from the battery according to the control board instructions. MB50-MPO is not required for MB50. The use of this board is optional, but without it there is no information about currents and charges in the battery.
